The Long Island Iced Tea is the king of all cocktails. It’s king because there’s almost nothing on the liquor shelf that’s not in it – and it’s difficult to imagine having more than one of them. The original recipe, attributed to a man named Robert C. Butts, can be a little overwhelming, so we’ve come up with a superior mix: the Long Agrum Iced Tea.
The trick with the any variation of the Long Island is to not overdo it. While there are a lot of ingredients, it’s important not to add too much of any of them. To start, take a cocktail shaker or jam jar filled with ice, then add a dash of vodka. But you’re not done yet: then add equal amounts of gin, rum, tequila, triple sec, peach schnapps and a really good squeeze of lemon juice.
Give these many, many ingredients a shake and strain into a tall glass, three-quarters full of ice. Top it off with Schweppes Agrum Citrus Blend and garnish with a piece of lime. Enjoy – but be careful!
