Blood Orange Mulled Wine


  • Mug


  • Bottle of Red Wine (preferably fruity Tempranillo or Sangiovese)
  • Splash of Grand Marnier
  • 4 Blood Oranges
  • Dollop of honey
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • Few cloves
  • Star Anise


  1. Pour the wine into a large pot and add Grand Marnier, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise and honey.
  2. Cut 3 blood oranges into slices and add them to the saucepan.
  3. Bring the mixture to the boil and once it starts bubbling, bring it down to simmer for half an hour.
  4. Cut up another blood orange into wedges for garnish and serve really, really warm.
