Pomegranate Margarita

Bobby Gleason is the current holder of the fastest cocktail mixing title. Gleason made 253 drinks in 60 minutes, an amazing performance considering it takes most people 60 minutes to find that bottle of Campari they just know they have around here somewhere. One of the cocktails made in the hour was a pomegranate margarita. Here’s one to try yourself, at your own pace of course.

Glassware

  • Martini glass

Ingredients

  • Lime wedge, plus more for garnish
  • Salt
  • Ice
  • 120ml white tequila
  • 60ml Triple Sec
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1 lime, juiced (optional)
  • Schweppes Soda water

Method

  1. Pour salt onto a plate or shallow dish.
  2. Rub a lime wedge along the rim of a glass and dip glasses upside down to salt the rim.
  3. Fill glasses with ice.
  4. In a cocktail shaker with ice place the tequila, triple sec, pomegranate juice, and lime juice.
  5. Pour into the salt-rimmed glasses and top off with Schweppes Soda Water.
